Every patient seen at APA has the following basic rights. 1. To be treated with respect and dignity. 2. To know that all patient information is confidential. 3. To be given the rights and privileges granted by law with respect to their patient record. 4. To receive a complete, easily understandable explanation of their condition and treatment. 5. To be told of appropriate medically necessary treatment options, regardless of cost or benefit coverage. 6. To participate in decisions involving their treatment. 7. To be informed of the consequences of refusing treatment or not complying with prescribed treatment. 8. To choose to participate or not in scientific research. 9. To file a complaint should a dispute arise over treatment or claims. 10. To expect that APA will reasonably try to accommodate any cultural, language or gender preferences that the patient may desire in their provider. 11. To have sufficient information to be able to give informed consent for treatment except in medical emergencies. 12. To receive information about APA's services and practitioner, clincal guidelines, and patient rights and responsibilities. 13. To make recommendations regarding APA's patient rights and responsibilities policies.
